Wonderful Visit to Shimadzu – Strengthening Our Industry Ties

Last Friday, September 19th, we had the pleasure of visiting Shimadzu Corporation, an experience that reminded us of the immense value of close collaboration between academia and industry. We were warmly welcomed by Hiroomi Saito, Assistant Manager of the Global Collaboration Development Group within the Government and Academic Collaboration Unit. From the very beginning, Mr. Saito and his team made us feel at home, guiding us with professionalism, patience, and genuine enthusiasm.

During the visit, we had the unique opportunity to explore Shimadzu’s high-speed cameras, mechanical testing equipment, and non-destructive testing systems, observing firsthand the precision and innovation behind these cutting-edge technologies. It was fascinating to see how these instruments, which are essential for research and development across multiple fields, operate in practice.

In addition to the laboratory equipment, we were shown the showrooms featuring the latest models of Shimadzu’s flagship instruments. Walking through these spaces, it was impossible not to appreciate the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and user-friendly design.

Visits like these highlight how important it is to maintain strong, mutually supportive relationships with industry partners. Shimadzu’s team was not only informative but also genuinely welcoming, making it clear that collaboration is at the heart of their approach. It is inspiring to see such dedication to supporting research and education, and we feel fortunate to have such strong ties with a company that values knowledge sharing and innovation as much as we do.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Shimadzu and exploring future opportunities together. A heartfelt thank you to Hiroomi Saito and the entire Shimadzu team for making this visit both productive and memorable.
